The Water Falls

The New York Deaf Theater

The Water Falls was presented Off-Broadway at the Chelsea Playhouse in NYC. The play is about a deaf man who has to come to terms with his grandfather's suicide. The scenery centered on water steadily dripping into a bucket down stage left. The reflections off the water caused the character to have flashbacks. I lined the ceiling above the grid with Mylar sheets and aimed colored fixtures at it. As I agitated the sheets I was able to create a beautifully kinetic effect all over the stage.
